Carnivore Diet Menu – [What You Can/Can’t Eat]

The equation of the carnivore diet is “meat + water”

The carnivore diet is entirely focused on meat and animal products and is cutting out any other types of food like fruits, seeds, nuts…etc. That’s why it’s known as animal-sourced foods (ASF) diet, zero carb diet or meat-only diet. People might think that the carnivore diet menu is limited but this is not true as you can prepare hundreds of carnivore diet recipes.

The carnivore diet is an aggressive and extreme lifestyle for the long term. However, a huge number of people have been trying it claiming that it has a huge impact on their lives. It has led to weight loss, inflammation and blood pressure reduction and boosted libido.

One of the most well-known supporters of the carnivore diet is Shawn Baker, a former orthopedic doctor, who has lots and lots of testimonials from people who followed the carnivore diet and their lives had changed. They confirmed that it helped them to control anxiety, depressions, diabetes, obesity and many more. But until now, medical experts didn’t confirm that there was any scientific proof to confirm these testimonials or any research papers that analyzed its effects.

So now if you have decided to go for a carnivore diet, you need to create your carnivore diet and we will help you to do so.

Carnivore diet menu

We will provide you with 3 types of food that will smooth your diet life for the coming period; food you should eat, the food you should avoid, and snacks that you can get.

So, open your shopping list and write the below items down:

–      Red meat (beef, pork, lamb) and make sure to get fattier cuts of meat to take in enough calories.

–      Organ meat.

–      Fish.

–      Butter.

–      Milk, cheese, and yogurt.

–      Poultry.

–      Lard.

–      Bone marrow.

–      Bone broth.

–      Salt & pepper.

–      Coffee & tea.

–      Water.

So, let’s discuss every type of the above item in detail. Mmmm, we can start with the meat.

–          Meat

Do you think that everybody loves meat? Yes, I think so.

According to a study done by the United States Department for Agriculture (USDA) in 2018, the consumption of meat reached its highest.

Meat Consumption in USA

But the case is different if you are following a carnivore diet. Your consumption might be doubled or even tripled. You will always look for fattier cuts, so we recommend that you can try the following cuts:

  • Ribs.
  • Chucks.
  • Ribeye.
  • Flank.
  • Round steak.
  • Brisket.
  • Top rump.
  • Porterhouse
  • Striploin.
  • Fillet.
  • Flat iron.
  • T-bone.

Also, the carnivore diet is not only restricted to beef, but the varieties are wide. Here are some options that really work well with the carnivore diet:

  • Offal or organ meat such as liver, brain, tongue, kidneys, heart, and tripe
  • Venison is also known as deer meat. It’s clean meat which is higher in protein and lowers in fats than beef.
  • Turkey legs.
  • Chicken legs and thighs.
  • Moose meat has a lot of benefits as it’s full of protein, vitamins, potassium, and minerals
  • Bison beef has the second types of red beef in terms of consumption
  • Lamb chops and cutlets.
  • Duck breast with skin
  • Pork chops and belly
  • Kangaroo steaks
  • Ostrich

–  Seafood

The diversity of food is really essential to avoid being bored. Seafood is the perfect choice. It’s easy to be cooked, easy on your stomach and your digestive system can process it faster. Also, it can provide you with B-complex vitamins, vitamin D and vitamin A

Here is my favorite seafood list:

  • Shrimp.
  • Lobster.
  • Tuna.
  • Crabs.
  • Scallops.
  • Oysters.
  • Salmon.
  • Squid.

Do you think you have more to add to my list?

  • Dairy Products
Dairy Products for Carnivore Diet

Good news that dairy products are not off the list and simply because they are animals’ food and they have a lot of beneficial nutrition.

You can have them as a quick breakfast meal or as a snack between meals.

So, you can add the below items to your shopping list:

  • Cheese.
  • Milk.
  • Yogurt.
  • Butter.
  • Cream.
  • Eggs
Eating Eggs On The Carnivore Diet

They come from animals, high in protein, plus they have fat and yolks, therefore eggs are the perfect choice to be added to the carnivore diet menu.

Not only chicken eggs, but duck eggs are also on the menu. Just put your chef’s hat and cook them the way you like, hard-boiled, soft boiled, hard scrambled, or soft scramble, it’s your call!

  • Water

60% of your body is water! Drinking water during the day is really essential. 3 liters are the least you should drink per day. Some people say 2 liters are enough, but being on a carnivore diet, fruits and vegetables are off the menu, that’s why you should increase your drinking level to make it up for you.

  • Coffee & tea

Drinking coffee and tea are okay during your day, but avoid adding sugar and make sure not to drink a lot of caffeine as it will dehydrate you.

In my opinion, caffeine is really helpful on exercise days as it gives you more power. So, for every cup you drink, you have to drink some extra water as well.

Green tea is a great option as well.

Your carnivore diet menu shouldn’t include

Everything that it’s not meat! Now you should know what you have to avoid it entirely during the carnivore diet:

–     Grains (bread, cereals, and flour)

–     Nuts

–     Fruits & vegetables.

–     Desserts (cakes and ice-cream)

–     Seasoning and Sauces
